The books and the marriage rejection

Once upon a time there was very rich family and happy. It was called as Ramkar family. They had their own business and five members. Two sons and a daughter along the husband and wife were living. All were educated and cultured. At that time the father was looking for good match to his daughter. So he spread word among the community. In between they received lots of invitation. The whole family discussed it with one another. Because they always believed that the important decision would be taken with the family discussion. Finally they selected one of the famous business families of their state.

                        Accordingly the father along with sons and other relatives visited that family. At first they were welcomed and offered the refreshment. After that both family had good discussion regarding the marriage as well as the family business. However the father and the family of the girl were happy at first, but the father asked for taking round the house which was like huge bungalow. So he was allowed to take round each and every corner of the house.  He observed it very consciously and became somewhat confused about the boy’s family. As soon as he ended his turn and requested his sons to see it too. They also saw. Finally everything was finished including round of the house. It was seemed to all of them that the marriage might be fixed, but the father of the girl turned down. It shocked everyone including his sons. There was no communication for while, but boy’s father came forward and asked for reason of rejecting. Though they belonged to high society and well settled in the business.

                  The father of the girl responded politely, “I found that there were no newspapers, books and family library in the house. I think that these are our base of the family. It shows that there may be missing discipline, modesty, good family cultured, respect, and many more. There is no doubt that the family has huge money. However it is not everything for making the family happy and contended. In my opinion, good and happy family should have its own library and daily newspapers. The family can read them every day and it is food for their thought. So I apologized you all for sharing my views” everyone listened to him attentively. All of them became pensive and receptive.

                                    Even today’s we look for good things including bank balance, cars, bungalows, luxuries ,and wealth. However that father saw something different and rejected the proposal.
