Once I was in the village and talked with the elders.
At a moment the villagers used to greet them with ‘Ram Ram or Jay Ram Ji ki’. I
also greeted them. As it was tradition to greet the passerby.
But a little boy questioned his grandpa why the males
greeted one another with ‘Ram Ram or Jay Ram Ji Ki’. All of us were put into
thought by him. Others started to discuss among themselves about it. The boy
was waiting for the reply.
At that time, he again questioned his grandmother why
the females didn’t greet one another with ‘Sita Sita.’ She immediately answered
that the females had not done any sinful act. That‘s why they didn’t need to
use it in the sake of washing their sin. On the contrary, the males remembered
the name of Lord Ram to wash sin of their lives.
The incident taught me a lot about sin and virtue. Even I was influenced by question of the
boy and answer of the grandmother.
