A case study of the young man
1) Case study
Pankaj Vasiya from Rajkot graduated from South Gujarat
University, Surat. Initially, he thought of joining any job but was not happy.
However, he shared his views with the family about his idea for his startup
business. Some of the members opposed his idea and insisted on him doing the
job. As they didn’t want to take up any chance of risk or financial issue.
He still dreamt of his startup, and slowly he
convinced his father about his dream. On asking him, he had still an unclear
idea of what startup business. The father allowed him to do whatever he liked.
Then he started taking a round of his area and didn’t get what business was.
But he kept communicating with the people of that area
and others. On the other hand, other family members mounted pressure on him for
returning to the job. He continued visiting the people, schools and colleges
nearby. After six months, he found something related to his idea. He decided to
start a library for school and college students for reading. So he rented a
small complex where he set up the library with a capacity of 500 students for
sitting and reading. He charged a yearly 1500 per student. They also enrolled and
spent their time reading at least 5 to 6 hours.
He did marketing for it by visiting various schools
and colleges and sharing his library and specialities. Slowly and gradually, he
enrolled 200 students in the first month, and the enrollment number increased.
Simultaneously, he began a small refreshment shop beside the library where the
students can have their breakfast and tea. After two months, he jumped into
another shop of stationery and Xerox facility and ice cream and juice parlour
for the students.
