Speech on Republic Day

Today we Indian people are celebrating 70th republic day all over the country. Republic means that it is a form of government in which power resides in the people, but is exercised by elected leaders run according to the constitution provision and enacted laws of the land. So what power do we have as Indian? Do we know it? Perhaps we are powerless due to current scenario of the country. We are always surrounded by the corruption, social issues, and internal fights. If we want to develop our nation, we need to know our self and power, that defines the word ‘Republic’
Today, instead of changing the leaders, we need to change ourselves, our attitude, communication habits, work style, and many things. We always put blame over the government for anything. It is either educational or social issue, but we never take responsibility of it and forget that we elected the present government by using our power. So that needs to be clear to us. Further we Indian have to develop our human power in every area as we read, see how the Japani, the French, and the Chinese people act for their nation.
For a better nation, we have to start our own development, not the government. Once our human self development starts, automatically the government also develops. But we as Indian forget it and all the time depend on the government’s policy and action. Here we become helpless. But I think today that we need to think about our own power which can empower not only ourselves but also the nation. In fact, we are full of power that is education, social, cultural, language and festival are power to us. We can use them wisely and tactfully. This way we can stop to comment, blame, to be negative towards the government. At this time I challenge everybody who is present here. Please what power we have, at least use it by acting purposefully as well as meaningfully. Otherwise we are helpless and powerless. So this republic day reminds us about it.
Please my dear fellow look at our power and get ourselves empowered by utilizing it properly. That is my request. “Jai Jind, Jai Bharat”
