Learning happened every time!

 Learning happened every time!

This Saturday, I was having a spoken English class at PTC College. As soon as I entered the class, I wished them and shared my views about Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Following the story, I told them that I would take interaction in the class. That time, I shared one of the best stories of Gandhiji and took my communication ahead. At that point, I shared a story of a shoemaker and the professor. It was about a practical approach to life. But one of the students asked me something about the story irrelevant to the point of the story. Again, I shared a story of the teacher who was sent to the school for the interview. But he was rejected by the principal due to his attitude. Again, the same student raised questions about why I shared the story which was the same irrelevant to the class. I tried to explain it to him, but I failed to do it.

Later on, I lost my temper and shouted at him. On the other hand, he also kept the same communication that I had. Then I realized my mistake and apologized to him as a good human being. I took it seriously and also cooled down myself as he said that I had made myself a fool before the class. However, I convinced myself that it was not good to argue with others. It was not a matter of who was right or wrong, but it was very important to be down to earth as we all kept learning alive in life and our career.

After some time, he again kept the same attitude of why I was giving the examples that he thought it was related to his life.

Then, he left the class by saying he had the class at another place. So I permitted him, but he was seen disturbed and agonized. Similarly, I was like him and became thoughtful over his demeanour.

The session taught me a lesson about keeping healthy and meaningful communication. I learnt so much from the session as I asked them for their feedback. Most of them said positive, but two of them expressed that they hadn’t learned anything. I smiled and said nothing. However, the person’s attitude matters for healthy and meaningful learning.
