Suspense of the meeting !
Suspense of the meeting!
By Haridas
Looking out and thinking of something, he
was in deep thought and always applied his thought in a system. He was a new to
Godhani School, but an experience seemed to be an old. Again he took seat and
browsed some websites and tried to search a website which would be useful to the
school. Because he was appointed as an administrator four month ago. The
management hoped that he would bring a drastic change to an old yearly system.
After taking a charge he felt to unable for changing it and looked for some way
out.
“Bhavesh sir, may I come in sir?’ Someone asked
for permission. He regained from his deep thought and said,
‘Yes, please
come in,’ that man was a clerk. He entered the office and reported, ‘sir I have
informed to both section of the school, even put a notice at the staffroom
about the meeting at central hall and timing at 11.a.m.’ he replied , ‘okay good ‘ the clerk thanked and went away.
Bhavesh bhai took out a mobile and called the person of top management,
‘ good morning sir, myself Bhavesh as I decide to have the
meeting and plan to do some changes , so as we will have a good and reputed
school ‘ on other side the person replied , ‘ yeah great , go ahead as you think . Thanks Bhavesh’ at a time he
immediately replied, ‘its pleasure sir’
Then they both spoke for a while
and Bhaveshbhai was about to return home. It was decided to take the teachers’
meeting. He seemed to be in change of the system. He at first observed whole
school and tried to convince every members of the school including the teachers
and the heads about some changes. But that didn’t bring a good result. He often
kept a diary in his hand and wrote down his observation. Every time he failed
to raise awareness in the teachers. He was seen to take frequent meeting with
the heads and the management. That also didn’t bring positive outcome.
Therefore he kept a special meeting with all teachers. He was in such
consideration that a teacher had to be committed and bound to be
result-oriented. Every authority was given by the top management. That day he
looked a little bit happy and perceived himself to be good man for that time.
Might be he did an excellent task of deciding to take the special meeting. He
was even ready to vent self, but he kept everything written in his diary. This
way he managed to control his resentment. At last he left the office.
At the school campus,
everybody started to murmur about it and got a surprise by some. Some of the
teachers took it as suspense. They thought of what the meeting would be, why it
would be and all were asked to attend compulsory. It might be something or
unknown decision. But everyone was in pensive and tension. Strict instructions
were given regarding it. All had to attend and sharp at time. No leave had to
be taken without valid cause. So it was seemed to be as the special and a
turning point in the history of the school.
As the day of the
meeting approached rapidly and it finally brought everyone at the central hall
of the school. Everyone was in deep thought. All waited the starting of it
eagerly and curiously. Even some of them felt anxiously of what it might take.
Mischievous and jolly teachers were passing their time by hurling comment,
making fun and prompting others. At a time somebody, perhaps the massi, came inside and yelled,
‘They, coming here by
elevator.’ All suddenly kept the mouth shut as if nothing happened there. The
hall was looked like a place of meditation. As Bhaveshbhai along with the
trustees entered there. Everyone stood and greeted them, looking at each
other’s face silently.
As the meeting proceeded with the
prayer and the anchor put an agenda of it and who was going to speak what. That
lady requested to the one of the heads of the school, please mam speak about today’s
meeting’, ‘thank you ‘replied she. Then she told about the principles of
education and its objectives. Even she gave the detail view of the school.
Until the nothing was cleared about why it was held. So they started to behave
as they behaved in previous meeting. Then the anchor put a request to Bhavesh
bhai to come forward and express his mind. He offered thankful to her. He
started speech by appreciating some parts of the school, even some teachers’
effort and some students. But at a time announced that he was in mood of
uplifting the school to higher level. So he intended to call it on that day.
He asked, ‘Are you all ready to take our
school to higher level?’ In one voice
all replied, ‘yes sir’, as if the session of yes -no question was there. Again
he asked, ‘those who are to be committed and bound to bring the desired result,
they will raise their hands, their salaries will be increased by three times.’
At a time some teachers raised the hands without much thinking. Next moment he,
one more time, asked, ‘if the person won’t fulfill the condition and fail to
bring the result, they’ll be expelled at a moment, ‘Am I right?’
All of sudden the
half of them put down the hands like a flash of light in the sky. There all
were looking at one another, thought of what was going on. Whether it was offer
or condition for them. And at least three of the teachers still raised the
hands. There fell total silent all over the hall. Even the heads didn’t know
about these offers or condition. The situation was like if a person worked
hard, he would be paid as per his demand. Otherwise he would be taken out of
the water like fish. It seemed whether the person will die or survive by it.
After while he again repeated what he was saying to them. Slowly and gradually
it was cleared that he was looking for committed, result oriented and ready to
accept the responsibility on the shoulder. These three looked at one another’s
face, not surely what could take them for acceptance of his challenge and
condition. It appeared to others that the six fell in his trap. At that time he
instructed them to go down and sit in his office. He would discuss planning
with them further. They thanked and left
slowly the hall. Everyone maintained the silent while Bhavesh bhai was
instructing them. Many of the teachers thought of strict and hard condition to
be put by him over these three.
As they
were out of sight, in the hall some of the teachers started whispering of what
unknown things going to take place. The meeting headed towards the end and he said,
‘Thank you all teachers.’ very soon he and the management turned their back to hall
and disappeared. All gathered outside and the heads rather didn’t say anything
about those three who accepted the offer as well as the condition. But one of
them remarked,
‘I don’t know what they will have in the
future, whether they will survive here or anywhere and it is out of our
knowledge!’ Simultaneously one of the
teachers too retorted,
‘oh! I think these three
will go hell. At least we are spared by our consciousness.’ others immediately
agreed with him. By and by all went down to the staffroom and occurred a lot of
chaos there. Nobody was able to get who speaks what and what spoken by whom. As
soon as it fell a little bit of silent there as it was half day for the
students. So there were no classes. Some were going or coming here and there.
Many of them were reading the newspaper and guessing what was going between
three and Bhaveshbhai including the management too. At that time the whole
school dived in a pool of discussion and fancying about the secret meeting of
those three and the administrator. As it was a just dream to everybody.
Afterwards the notice was kept in front of the heads’ office and every one
rushed there as if there would be declaration of lottery tickets. They started
to surprise, shocking and regretting. Many of them put the hands on forehead
flatly. Some of them were behind others Asking,
‘What the notice is about?’ And a quick blurted out of the crowd, ‘see
you!’
By the time notice reached at every corner of the school. Regretting,
grumbling, surprising and shocking were among everyone. It was about those
three got a good designation along salary. two of them were offered as a
coordinator and one as a vice-principal. Then everyone was cleared the
perception of commitment as well as challenge. That day changed the whole
school.
VERY GOOD AND KEEP IT UP !!!!!!!!!!!!
