His lost 'Why'!
His lost ‘Why’!
Once
Om asked the teacher while writing something about why the author left his country.
It was in fact related to the chapter. But the teacher kept him quiet by saying
that he had to complete the writing first. On the same day, he again questioned
the social science teacher,
“Why
did Hitler become violent during the second world war?”
“Sit
down, don’t ask such silly question.”
Retorted
by the teacher. That day Om didn’t get answer of his ‘why’. However he asked
that question to his neighbour‘s boy who was studying at the college level. Again
he was scolded by that boy and warned him not to ask such question.
He was totally confused by these people. He tried
to get the answer, but he hadn’t. Then he played with the friends in the evening
and got back home. At that time he completed his homework while watching television,
inquired his father about the government response to the advisement of tobacco and
cigarette. ,
“Why
does not the government take action against the tobacco company if it is harmful
to us?”
The father
looked at him and got furious. He started scolding him by saying,
“Don’t
ask such silly question. I don’t know why and how.”
At
a time the mother also signed the child to maintain silence and not disturb his
father.
Om
became silent and didn’t dare to ask his father. He decided that he would not
ask any more. Since that time, he forgot asking others about ‘why’. Along that why,
his mission, vision, and dream were washed away. He lost in the world of
sarcasm and materialistic. He just kept silent throughout the life. Later on,
he was asked by the family and others when he was grown up,
“Why that happened?”
But
he didn’t respond properly and satisfactorily. The family and others were
surprised at his demeanour. All of them asked one another,
“Why
did not he answer us properly?”
But
his ‘why’ was already lost its way in the course of time.
