Two different pupils, but the same aim!

Sometime back I came across two different incidents and learnt something out of these incidents. In the first incident, I came to know that my teacher’s son who passed out with good grade in the science. He got the admission at medical college after passing the NEET exam in first attempt. When I was studying at H M Patel institute, vidyanagar, at that time my teacher shared his son story with us. He told that his son was an avid reader and read all magazines as well as other books except his regular studies. He did it every month and bought the different books for himself. He had never the tuition outside, but he himself engaged in studies. He cultivated reading, thinking, and writing habits well.
Every year he passed with decent marks without the private tuition.  Since his childhood he had been developing various skills at home. Even his father, meant my teacher, was never bothered. But he took care of his child’s talents and gave the space to him. In the course of the academic years, he created the natural atmosphere for the studies without any pressure. He kept friendly nature with the child. I became happy and thoughtful when his son got an admission at a reputed college.
In the second incident, one of my relative’s son from Jalgaon who appeared twice for the NEET exam, but didn’t get sufficient marks for securing the admission at the medical college. He passed out with good marks in the science last year and devoted one and half years for the preparation of the exams. Even he joined Aakash Entrance Institute, Nashik and studied hard. In spite of these dedications, he failed to get the admission. Even the father thought to offer a large amount to some reputed college , but it was not possible as it was depended on the merit. Finally being lost an interest in medical career, the boy applied for pharmacy and got it.
His father shared his story with me and told that the family wished him to become a doctor. But it did not happen and the family was discouraged by his performance. I tried to convince him by saying that he would have bright future in the pharmacy too.
We draw many learning points from these two stories. Some parents think that they can use money power for their children’s career and expect a lot from them. They also keep view by sending the children at good institute and assure themselves that they have done their roles. They keep lots of dreams from their children. These may be their own, not children’s. They failed to provide the atmosphere of learning, motivation, support, understanding, and sharing. That’s why most of the students are under pressure and don’t share their feelings with the near and dear ones.
However there are also some parents who always take care of their children’s talents naturally. They don’t like to put the pressure upon them, but play the role of the coach. Some time these parents also encourage the wards at time of the failure. So these make a difference and the children bloom under care of the parents. Ultimate today’s children look for a sense of understanding and much more. Let’s think and need to spread a word among the parents. May be this small step can help us to save our children from suicide, escape, spoiling, and going astray.
