On self-sustaining or self-dependent

                                 On self-sustaining or self-dependent

Nowadays we are being heard the word ‘self-sustaining or self-dependent.’ It means that we have to be a man of self-driven and self-motivated for creating new things. And we need to depend on self instead of others. From collecting the materials to making or finishing the product or anything to sell it at marketing. So we should be skill-based and talented. That is called ‘self-sustaining person.’

So the government tries to reach the society for that purpose and teach it for a better future. Even private colleges and skill-based institutes are setting up the structure for that. So as the talented, as well as curious learners, are to be attracted towards them. Further, they would make their self -sustaining materials and product. Then they would place these products at national and international level. By that time, the problem of unemployment would be wiped out from the society. These are efforts from all side of the Indian government and private sectors.

But I observed that people are more interested in giving their industries on rent. They put a board of ‘Lease the property or Sell it’ outside. Instead of investing their time, talent and money in creating it, they are ready to sell at a cheaper rate. They want to earn some money out of it and spend their time at home for some months. That is their inclination and mindset. So how can they become self-sustaining or self-dependent, if they have such attitude towards newly created slogan “self –dependent India?”

Even I saw several offices and rooms are vacant. Nobody is ready to gear up for new creations and innovations. During this hopeless lockdown, all are stuck at someplace and embarrassed about self- sustaining qualities. They are messed up and don’t get clear ideas on creating new possibilities. They keep the opinion that they will be deteriorated if they go in that direction. They are feared and doubtful. There are several reasons for such keeping attitude.

On the other hand, among that I came across a man, who was a cobbler, self- driven and confident. He was taking round for selling his talents. While passing through each street, he called out like Hindi movie style, “in 5 rupees repair your slipper or shoes and 10 rupees, sew your school bag or any type of bag.” Somebody made fun of him by saying how he could afford on five or ten rupees in the expensive world. But he replied to him instantly that he would manage his life on less money. He was seen as happy and confident while doing it. As if he had mastery in selling his skill. As soon as he went ahead, some women came out with shoes and bags. It was a result of his efforts.

The same way we need the people to come out fearlessly in society. They can sell their skills and talents like that cobbler. Otherwise, they will confine in their shell and never show what skills they have. So we Indian have to understand the word ‘self-sustaining or self-dependent.’ Then we need to learn what is required for it and apply it quickly for a better future. Let’s begin with hope for it!
