Life-changing test

I heard the following story at one of the educational programs. And I liked it very much. So I wish to tell it here.

                                      Life-changing test

One day the professor went to the class and declared that he would take a surprise test. The class was surprised over it and started murmuring. But the professor convinced them about it, and they were also ready to take it to challenge. It meant that he was going to ask a question to the whole class.

Then he asked them,

“What will you do to make the next empty class untidy and dirty?”

Some of them shared that they would bring the garbage in the class. Others responded that they would throw the dirt or garbage there.  However, the professor was not happy with their responses. He uttered,

“I don’t get the answer what I have expected.”

Then he looked at a student who was sitting in the corner of the class. They both looked at each other with a smile. The professor shot the same question at him. But he expressed that he would also ask the professor before answering his question. He was allowed to ask the professor anything.

Happily, he said,

“Sir, what should I do if I want zero marks in the final exam?

The professor smiled at him and exclaimed,

“Simply, you do nothing. Automatically you will get zero marks in the final exams.”

At the time, the student said that he would also do nothing for the room. But he would lock it, and it would automatically get dirty.

Similarly, people don’t do anything to challenge themselves. They just fill daily routine and expect the extraordinary outcome. But they never realise the outcome of doing nothing in life and career.  Still, they wish blindly that they would get good things in life without doing anything.
