Classroom dynamics
means , in my view, to bring on
interaction between the teacher and the learners. In other words, it is said
that an activity or something new would be introduced and it can bring a change
factor in the learners’ lives. It may develop the life skills of them. It is
just the activity by the teacher and it stimulates the students to change in
their behaviour. Then it leads them to be good learners. In a course of time,
they become self-responsible and learners. But there are still different views
and definitions.
In a short , the
teacher needs to apply some innovative and creative activity in the class. At a
time , It enables the learners to develop learning skills. Slowly they realize their career due to the activity. Even
it is equally significant for the teacher to prepare the class in order to
enhance their skills. So that they will have clear and proper career on the
basis of skills. These are to be sharpened by the teacher. These skills
are: self-awareness, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking , creative thinking ,interpersonal
communication , effective communication , managing emotions and dealing with
stress. In today’s scenario, these skills should be inculcated into the
students by the teacher. Nowadays it is an important to impart these skills
them in sake of shaping their careers. That’s why the classroom dynamics can
play a lion’s share in the students’ lives.
There are many
classroom dynamics, but it is quite crucial to think over these dynamics and
select them properly. These should be planned , tested and practiced carefully. Then the teacher has to
plan out some of well, proper and
careful activities. Simultaneously he needs to keep a clear objectives so that
the outcome can take place in the classroom. let’s see one by one.
1) Rules and regulations
:- In the beginning of academic year, the teacher can ask the class about what
rules and regulations do they need to keep in the class? So that everybody will
follow them and the class will function smoothly. At that time , every student
has to write two or three rules which he or she likes. After that the teacher will
collect these and read them loudly. At a same time the students will sanction
the rules which they like to keep in the class. As soon as the teacher finishes
it and these rules to be written on a paper and keep it on the class notice
board with their signature. All these rules will remind them to behave properly
and disciplined in the class. Even the teacher will not be allowed to break these , but he is also bound to
follow them strictly.
2) SOD:-
It means that it is student of day. The student who becomes SOD, he will
observe day of the class and write a report. Then he will read aloud next day
in the first period. The report to be submitted to the class teacher. It
enables them to develop their observation skill. It makes them to learn the
things differently. It makes them to be pensive after writing the report. So it
is good activity to maintain the class disciplined and controlled. Every day
the student will become SOD. It can be followed by roll number wise. It enables
them to change their perception towards others.
3) Appreciation day:-Every
day the teacher has to select a boy or a girl for this activity. in which he or
she will be appreciated on that day for good things after keeping observation on
the students by the teacher. Simultaneously that student will also appreciate
other students for doing good work for the class. This can be done at last
period. It can bring a positive momentum in the class. It brings closeness
among the students. It prepares them to find good and positive in others.
Automatically they become optimistic. It brings about a lot of changes in their
behavior. It makes them to be grateful towards others.
4) Presentation day:- Main subject teachers can assign each student
to present their views on a specific topic. It can be taken from the book or
the chapter. That student will present the presentation in front of the class.
May be he or she can prepare it on PPT. The liberty will be given to the
student. This can be assigned to the students in well advance so that they will
prepare properly. Any method or technique can be used in the presentation. This
can be done on given day. May be on Saturday so that everybody will be
ready to present. At same time they can
also ask related questions to the presenter .In this way communication as well
as presentation skill can be enhanced. It prepares them to think logically and
critically. It makes them to cultivate their convincing skill. It not only
helps them to improve the life skills but also teach the valuable lessons
practically.
5) Class survey:-
In this activity, the teacher can assign
the work of survey to the students. In that survey , every student will prepare
the questionnaire and ask any two students of the class. The Whole class will
do this survey and keep the data. Then they will present it before the class
next time. They will keep simple question for this. They can keep the following
questions: A) How many members are there in your family? B) How many members go
to school? C) How many of members are graduate and 12 passed? D) What are the
hobbies of the members? It enables them to know about other’s likes and
dislikes. It prepares them to take such survey outside too. It makes them to
improve their communication skill. It can engage them among themselves.
6) Group discussion
:- The class will be given the topic on the base of the lesson. The group can
be formed along with the leader. These leaders will control the group and help
the group discussion to work smoothly. The teacher can monitor these group and
note down the points of each group. In the end , he will share his observation
and views before the groups. It improves their communication as well as
convincing skill.
7) Problem solving
:- Sometime the teacher can keep the problem solving in the class. But he will
make a group of ten students. Then he will present the problem before them and
ask for the solution. He will fix the time for the groups to present the
solution. The problem will be taken from
real life. E.G. if close friend of them start stealing from other’s bag as well
as box. How can they remove his bad habit? Here the teacher can appreciate the best one group. This makes them to enhance their logical
thinking. It enables them to develop convincing skill.
8) News reporter of the day:-
The teacher can make a boy and a girl as the news reporter of the day. They will collect an interesting
, amazing and positive stories from the school and all the classes. Next day
they will read out these news in the assembly. This activity can be assigned to
roll number wise. The fix timing will be given for their news presentation. It
makes them to develop their observation and analytical skills. It enables them
to find amazing, humorous and interesting in each classes. It can improve their
presentation and make them to take an
interest in research work. As they start
observation and research in the classes, they will have skill based career.
9) Feedback
:- Every time the teacher can ask the students to give feedback. It can be done
by asking simple questions , so as it can assist them to speak out. These are
in following
A) What do they like and dislike in
today’s session?
B) What suggestion do they need to
give?
C) In what way can they do better in today’s lesson if teach second
time?
D) What do they learn from today’s
lesson?
As soon as the teacher
asks them, they will start communicating with one another. Then they can share
their views and thought. This helps them to widen their learning areas and
experience. It enables them to think deeply.
10) Serve the society :- The class teacher can form a group of five students and assign the social work for each group. Every group can select a day for the work. The topic of the social works are: literacy programme, hygience and cleanliness, corruption free society, addiction free society and skill based training for the society. Each group will try to do something like drama, survey, role play, awareness rally and interaction with society. The liberty can be given to the group for doing it. No restriction will be on them. Along with these things, the group will have name and a leader. This can help the students to aware of the social issues and they will learn how to deal with these effectively. This activity enables them to connect their feeling with society.

Above activities are chosen for classroom
dynamics. Still there are number of activities to be introduced in addition to
this. Actually these can prepare the learners to cultivate their skills. It can
also help them to take an interest in studies. It can turn their boredom into
curiosity and make them to be self-learners and discipline.
Generally the
teacher needs to develop his observation and reflection. So as he can get
innovative ideas for the classroom dynamics. Easily he can make the class
interactive , communicative pensive and attentive. Over all the learners can
receive the benefits. In 21st century , the education sector needs
such educators not only teach lessons but also enhance these life skills.
