Acknowledgement Gathering



In day to day life, we hardly acknowledge others either at home or workplace. It is said that acknowledgement strengthens the relationship and brings a sense of understanding. That’s why it is a need of today’s life. So it can be kept for 11th Com and Science. They are always surrounded by complaining, scolding, humiliation, and negativity. Therefore they become emotionless and non listener to the parents and the teachers. Sometime they release their emotion in unaccepted way. They don’t show or share their feelings with others.
      Further they all the time keep feeling that they are not listened. Nobody cares of them and their needs. Continuously they live under this assumption that their parents as well as the teachers don’t notice their work. If noticed, at a time they are criticized. So they keep avoiding them and others. They don’t like share their thought and opinion. That‘s why they become violent, rebellious, non receptive, and isolated. They try to release their energy through unaccepted way. Then either the parents or the teachers feel that their wards are not disciplined and well behaved. Then they only share their feelings with those classmates to whom they keep trust. Otherwise they like to mum. In short, they waste their talents by keeping constant gossiping among the peer group. At this stage they don’t get it, even they reject their parent’s advice.
                                       These happen due to lack of acknowledgment to them. If they are acknowledged, they will feel proud being the student and the son. They always look for identity and recognition. They think that the parents and the teachers have to listen to them without raising any question. It means that we as teachers and parents need to acknowledge them. it can be done at school in form of the programme. It can be called ‘The acknowledgement gathering’. In it everyone of school speaks about them positively. The teachers can remind the student how they worked positively and brought a good result in school. That may be small or big incident, but acknowledge their efforts in authentic way. That enables them very emotional, loving, and receptive to others. They become very pleased and curious when the teacher speak in a specific way and highlight their work positively. At that time they like to listen to the teachers and the parents attentively. That way they automatically take challenge and goal. Afterward they go ahead with the planning and promise to achieve their best.
               In this activity, moreover the students can be divided among the teachers for acknowledgement. Importantly the teachers have to study well about their qualities as well as best work. They need to provide some examples of the class by acknowledging them. Then they can create the students’ future by justifying their work. At that time the students also realise their potential and try to act like that.
           In doing this activity, lots can be achieved. First of all the students can feel respected, recognized, and achieved. Further the relationship of them can be improved. They will slowly come to realise about the teachers’ expectation. They will at least try to do their best. As they listen, they will start believing in themselves. They feel attached with their parents and the teachers.
                                     Through this activity, both sides can feel win-win situation. They consolidate their relation in order to achieve more and more. This can help them not only in the studies but also in day to day life. It makes them happy and satisfied. Psychologically it is said, “What you throw on others, same you will receive”
