An enemy within!                                 In Friday evening of this week, I went with my friend, who actually runs school in the slum area, to Chowk Bazaar for our usual time together at Al Khalil Tea and had personal as well as professional exchange of ideas there while sipping tea. It is very famous place for tea drinkers. If you go there, you will find a crowd there and will come self- convincing thought that it is really well known for its tea. From there, he took me at another famous store the Perfect Dress. He had to clear some account there. Every time his school kept purchasing the school dress, sport dress, and sweater etc. so he decided to clear the account on that day. He was in fact late in clearing it. That’s why he promised me that he would take leave with half an hour. I agreed to accompany in spite of urgent work at home. As soon as we both reached at it and parked the

A Gala Day !

Today I was a little bit raged by yesterday’s discussion with my colleagues. Being an English teacher I was worried. In fact it was about students’ English practice and the teachers’ efforts. So I was aggressive and shot several questions at others about their roles including me. But it seemed that I was taking unnecessary tension as others tried to ignore to it. That issue lingered through my mind whole day. Even I was upset while sleeping and kept murmuring as well as validating to me. By the next morning I was a bit relieved and felt that I was wrong. Still I had a big question about why others didn’t take such serious issue authentically. As soon as I had a cup of tea, leaving for school. After reaching the bus stand ,took a bus going to Navasari. I had those feeling while sitting in the bus.                    As alighting near the bus station in Navasari and hired the auto. The driver steered it toward my school. I reached there and paid the fare hurriedly. After that

Expectations of instant result by the parents.

Once parents of the school child came at the reception and inquired about the principal. They wanted to meet him regarding their child’s progress. Having some doubt they turned up there and raised the questions over it. But the receptionist kept them to wait for some time. At that time I was in the principal’s office and had very urgent work. So I could not leave the place. I heard their concern, as soon as they entered there.   At first they took seat and drank a glass of water offered by the principal. Slowly the father of the child, who was studying in 3 rd standard, started to pent up his emotion that his child didn’t get English language. The principal asked them what the child didn’t understand. It was either speaking or reading or anything else. The mother also said that he didn’t understand anybody’s English and even he didn’t speak it at all. Further she added that he was confused whenever somebody conversed with him. We both listened to them in a rapt attention

Meditation and India.

Image
Meditation is a word which has nothing to do with any religion. It is a purely science, but the western countries say that it has a base of religion and spirituality of the eastern countries. So India is immensely regarded as a place for the meditation. Once Steve Jobs was asked by the journalist what the success meant to him. He instantly replied that he had to go India and study the meditation. That way India and meditation are known. The meditation is varied in its practices and methods. That’s why we find various types of it. However, the people follow the religious method, chanting the mantra, and practice regularly. Apart from this, there are lots of benefits to the person, his mind, and body. It is rightly said that the sound mind is the sound body. So the person practices it regularly. Then he gets the benefits, such as the sound mind and body, clarity of thought, and the life mission. Further if the person continues with it constantly, he will realise that he isn’t hi

A day in the life of an accountant. “Shailendra, shailendra …..” a voice came from outside and Shailendra got up at the table, looking for the person and somewhat familiar voice. He saw none other than Mr. Dinesh who was working as a music teacher in Royal public school. At the same place Shailendra was also working as an accountant. By age and nature he was liked by all. He was the entire time ready to assist everybody. Therefore he got attention of everyone including the management. He replied to Dinesh sir,   “Yes sir what can I do for you?” Smiling forwarded by Dinesh sir and asked him where he had kept those students file that were selected for the state level competition. The Gurus of Navapur college inspired and empowered me.

The Gurus of Navapur College inspired and empowered me. 1) Meet My Guru Prof. J. D. Sali who is my college teacher. He is an M A, M Phil, and SET in English. Today I still remember his words, actions, and thoughts. He is very frank and friendly by nature. He is a good speaker of both languages; English and Marathi. Now he is the head of English department at Navapur College. He handles all activities of the department. He constantly reaches out to the students who are from the tribal area and helps them. His way of teaching is interactive and discussion based. At Navapur college campus, he is called as the ‘Vidharthi Mitra’ (student’s friend). Today I recall an incident of his class when I was studying SYBA. At that time, he taught a poem, “ The Solitary Reaper”. Exactly he had created a poetic expression and his body language was such that the student from second language easily understood his language. At a time most of the students didn’t know how to

His lost 'Why'!

His lost ‘Why’! Once Om asked the teacher while writing something about why the author left his country. It was in fact related to the chapter. But the teacher kept him quiet by saying that he had to complete the writing first. On the same day, he again questioned the social science teacher, “Why did Hitler become violent during the second world war?” “Sit down, don’t ask such silly question.” Retorted by the teacher. That day Om didn’t get answer of his ‘why’. However he asked that question to his neighbour‘s boy who was studying at the college level. Again he was scolded by that boy and warned him not to ask such question.   He was totally confused by these people. He tried to get the answer, but he hadn’t. Then he played with the friends in the evening and got back home. At that time he completed his homework while watching television, inquired his father about the government respons
