Subject: Complaint about insufficient road lights in Meghaninagar area
Sir,
For the last two months, a number of street-lights in our area are either fused off or owing to some technical reason are not working. Soon after sunset, darkness wraps up the area. The lights on some poles that are working are too dim to bright up the area. Of now, three incidents of chain-snatching have been reported, and the residents of this area feel quite insecure these hours. The incidents of eve-teasing are also increasing day by day; and it has become quite difficult to move out after sunset.
Under these circumstances, it is my sincere request on behalf of the residents of Meghaninagar area that you look into the matter and take as urgent actions as possible.
Regards,
Madhuben R. Patel

Speech Writing sample
Q 1) You are going to deliver a speech on 'Say No to Poly Bags' in your school assembly. Draft a speech using the given points in about 100 words.
Ans. Respected Principal, honourable teachers and my dear schoolmates.
Good afternoon everybody,
Today I am going to talk on a great threat to the world these days, and that is menace of poly bags.
Poly bags are considered to be a wonderful invention of science. They are light, cheap, waterproof and non-teasing nature and virtue of these qualities they have very conveniently replaced the cloth, jute and paper bags in our day-to-day life. However, all of us seem to ignore the hazardous aspects of using poly bags. Poly bags have become such a significant part of our life that we hardly ever become think of saying no to poly bags despite all the hazards of using them.
Use of poly bags has been causing immense harm to the environment. Millions of poly bags are being used for time periods ranging from a few minutes to a few hours and once their utility is over, they are thrown away to clog drains and choke soil. Hot edible items put in or stored in poly bags results in contamination of the food items and consumption of such food items can adversely affect the human health. Many a time, littering of poly bags here and there causes animals to eat those and get choked to death. Clogging of drains due to poly bags can cause overflowing of rainwater thereby giving rise to an unclean and unhygienic situation. Being non-porous and also non-biodegradable poly bags obstruct the free flow of water and air. Poly bags also contain toxic chemicals. Thus, they choke the soil and suffocate the roots of plants. Poly bags are thrown on the ground, the toxic chemicals additives leach the soil thereby rendering the soil infertile, where plants stop growing. Poly bags also cause the problem of water-logging and such water logging has been known to trigger landslides in hilly areas. Being non-biodegradable, poly bags take a huge number of years to get decomposed.
So, what is the solution? The most convenient and alternative opinion would be to use a cloth or jute bag while we move out of our homes. Bags made of cloth or jute are eco-friendly and easy to carry. There should impose a ban on the use of poly bags . It is important that we save our world from the menace of poly bags. Otherwise, the day is not far when we will have a planet without any plants and animals, and of course, human beings. Let's all say a big 'No' to poly bags.

We attended this show in Mumbai last Sunday
at Bombay studio. The anchor Aditya Narayan began well with his style and
attracted everyone. Then, all participants turned up on the stage. We all had a
huge round of clap. Slowly and gradually the judges also came on the stage and
introduced themselves before us. It was looked like a real, not reel. So we
became pleased and saw all of them closely. Later on, one of the singers was
invited to sing. He was none other than Pawan Rajdeep from Uttarakhand. He sang
a melodious song and impressed the judges. Even one of the judges commented
positively and offered tips to him. After him, another singer came, and she was
Sayli Kambli from Mumbai. She began with a Hindi dialogue. She held us in her song
and impressed everyone. We all enjoyed
such a programme for the first time. It was full of competition and
challenging. But the contestants were ready to go through any ordeal. In the
end, we left the programme with happiness and a positive mindset. It was indeed
worth attending the programme.
