Take pride in our heritage and legacy
Take
pride in our heritage and legacy.
Heritage
and legacy are very important. It is the reflection of the identity of the
people of a nation. One identifies herself or himself with her or his heritage
and legacy that comes from our forefathers. So. We have to take pride in them.
Today only India has a rich legacy and heritage in the world. This gives a
sense of pride and identity. Our cultural heritage is a mirror of our national
unity.
In
the world, we observe that people behave strangely and unknowingly. In our
nation, we always treat others with love, folding hands, and touching other’s
feet. We always regard others as Lord by saying, “Atithi Dev Bhavo”. So, our
legacy and heritage make us emotional, loving and connected with others. May
God give you a long and healthy life” and so on represent our ethos and
personality. The traditional skills such as the art of decorations, fairs and
festivals, different varieties of dances, music, paintings, architectural
styles, and literature of different languages and dialects along with various
other art forms enrich our cultural landscape and heritage
We
always address everything as mother or Goddess such as Mother Land, animals too
are called as mother as Gay Mata. We pray for rain as God, trees are devoted by
us, and our soil is called goddess and devoted too. Can you see such feelings
and love in foreign lands? The answer must be no.
Can
the American people call their country a Goddess?
Can
a Pakistani separate from us be called a Goddess or mata?
My
dear friends, they don’t call as we call our country Goddess and try to take
care of her. There are many precious things in our country that we take pride
such as The Tajmahal, The Red Fort, The gate of India, and Indian dances or
folk dances. These represent the lifestyle of Indian society is being represented
in a certain manner.
We
know that India is a glorious home of innumerable magnificent sites and
monuments such as Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves, Elephanta Caves, the Taj Mahal,
Qutub Minar, Buland Darwaja, Victoria Memorial, Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Parliament
House, India Gate and many more. We also have grand Dilwara Jain Temples, the
great Sanchi Stupa and several magnificent temples in Orissa and in several
parts of South India. The Khajuraho group of temples, Jama Masjid, Red Fort and
churches and convents are some of the other famous places that are often
visited by tourists and civilians alike.
We
have a collection of sculpture, art and architecture, paintings, jewellery and
costumes, old weapons, and tools used in wars and battles. They are maintained
in various museums of the country. All these things reflect the glory of the
various cultures of our civilization. It attracts tourists and visitors from
different parts of the country and other countries.
Further,
our Hindu civilization retains its value and glory. Because it is based on
secularism. The Bhagavad Gita will always inspire men towards action and the
Upanishads will drive men of thought. The stories of the heroes of the
Mahabharata and the Ramayana are probably great assets of Indian Culture. They
still attract people of all ages.
That’s
why, our heritage and legacy are unique in several respects. Let’s try to
maintain and preserve it at all costs.
