                                   'A Dabba Party as social skill'

‘ A Dabba Party’ can be conducted at school as a social skill activity, it is also called as fun party, sharing and caring ,get together and emotional party etc. it Is not new to us about this activity , but we often forget to come together for understanding one another’s feeling. So it is an opportunity for school to keep ‘ the dabba party’. It is about to bring home made food in the a lunch box or tiffin. Then they can share with others. It begets oneness and closeness in the learners’ behaviour. It is said that the people used to take the meal in a group in ancient time and share their feeling with one another while having the meal. At a time  they lived happily and contentedly.

                                  At first  school can instruct the students clearly about it. In that they have to bring only home made food in a tiffin or lunch box. Secondly they have to sit in a circle and keep it in front of them. They have to move their tiffin box to next student as soon as they take their bite. They have to keep moving of their lunch box as slowly as possible. Even the teachers of that class as well as the principal will sit along with them. They also share their lunch box with their students. But they will take  a promise  before starting the activity.that is about a small pledge and try to follow at next year. The pledge can be in following lines. It tries to make all of us emotional and dutiful.

                        We will do our work seriously and sincerely,

                        We will not cheat others and ourselves ,

                        We will not hurt other’s feeling,

                        We will keep high aim,

                        We assure the parents and the teachers now that we will behave as grown up,

                        We promise that we will do better in upcoming days.

                                           As soon as they finish above pledge they will begin eating and moving the lunch box at next student. Invariably the principal or class teacher do a spoon feeding to their students. In a same way the students can do it. Here the management can be involved. It will infuse the love and care in the activity. In this way they can do this activity. The fun and pleasure will be increased as it moves ahead.

                 As we arrange it on the school ground and they sit in a circle as the villagers sit in a wedding ceremony. There are enormous benefit. It can change the negative feeling of each others into positive. It can change our perception about others. It is also called as social gathering. Definitely the great learning takes place. Happy learning and living together!
