Teaching Spoken English is
not a cup of tea!
Teaching spoken English isn’t a cup of tea. It highly
demands complete results. It involves all four language factors: listening,
speaking, reading, and writing. Apart from this, other ideas are also applied
in the class. There isn’t any surety about what works or what doesn't. That’s
why one has to go beyond the classroom language and find something better for
his learners. Importantly, motivation and happiness are required to play a
greater role in bringing out the best results in the class.
Moreover, commitment and focus are needed from both sides to practise the
English language at a regular level. Manners of teaching and learning matter a
lot as they help them create interest. Even starting and ending not only impart
motivation but also hold them for a week. Therefore, activities are designed so
that they learn it naturally and interestingly.
At the next level, developing a thought process in the
English language is a touchstone for teachers and learners too. Hence, getting
such ideas and activities in class and applying them accordingly helps them
much more.
Last but not least materials don’t work to some extent
but the methods surely do it. Therefore, more thoughtfulness is required for
teaching spoken English.
