An Annual exam
Nowadays we have an annual exam at our school. so every day we teachers get a duty of supervision. Today I got it and distributed answer sheet along with the question paper. At first, I instructed the students to read the question paper thoroughly. Further, I said to them that they could devote ten minutes to reading it.
As soon as they started writing it, asking for their subject teacher. It was 11th commerce students. So I immediately informed that teacher. Within ten minutes, he appeared there and solved the doubts. He went away. I was taking round. Again the same class asked for him solves their difficulties. I asked them why they were having difficulties and why they hadn’t asked him at first appearance when he came there. They said that they came to know about the difficulty while reading the question. It meant that they hadn’t read it thoroughly.
Again the teacher rushed at my class and started asking them of their difficulties. One of the students had difficulty. So the teacher said,
“You don’t get this question. It’s very simple.”
He disappeared after explaining it. At that time, I took for granted that they would not call him again. But they proved me wrong. They requested me to call their subject teacher after half an hour. I was totally surprised at their request and questioned them whether they had read the question paper completely.
The message was passed to the teacher. He was quickly there. Again he repeated the same instruction and sentence that they didn’t understand and read it carefully.
I observed them. In conclusion, I got shocked that the students, as well as the teacher, never read the question paper thoroughly. Further, we never give much time to read and think. Therefore, we have several difficulties in getting it. Even we don’t keep the question paper and its difficulties for discussion in the class.
If we keep a session for understanding a set of question papers, then our half of doubts and difficulties will be erased automatically. It can assist us to score good marks.
However, we know these important points yet ignore them.
