The alertness and trick of a village teacher
Once upon a time, there lived a teacher in a remote village. He was called as Girase sir. He was also doing the agriculture along with teaching job. He was very strict and disciplined by nature. Not only the students but also some people were afraid of him. Sometime the students would change their route if they saw him coming towards them. That was his dominant nature over them. Even the villagers used to respect and follow his advice happily.
In those times, there was a gang of dacoit and thieves. They sometimes used to come to the farmhouse and kill the farmer. Then they used to take whatever the objects were laying there. So the farmers avoided going to the farmhouse in the night. They feared such gangs which regularly operated there and attacked the farmers. In the village, it was gossip about them and their modus operandi.
On the other hand, the farmers faced the shortage of electric supply in the day time. It was a regular supply in the night hours. But they didn’t dare to go to the farmhouse in the night to water the crops. That’s why it became a headache for everyone. However, Girase used to go to the farmhouse for watering the field. One day some villagers warned him not to go in the night and shared the stories of these gangs and their modus operandi. He didn’t react to them but thought over it. He said to them, “Okay, I will see it.”
He went to his house and seriously considered their suggestions. But he was firm to go the farmhouse and water the plants. On reaching there, he the first of all gathered some big stones near his place. As soon as he started the electrical motor to water the crops, he looked around. There was no one and nothing. It was silent and sound of water.
He had his dinner which he had brought with him. While taking a round of the farmhouse, he heard the sound of walking toward him. I immediately realised that some people of the thieves were coming. He became alert and used a sense of awareness.
He was standing near the place where he had collected the stones and boulders. On seeing them, he loudly shouted,
“Aye, they are coming. You all villagers come out of the bushes and attack them.”
At a time, the gang heard him and his instruction. He pelted stones over them and suddenly they were also afraid.  They, instead of coming toward him, began running back. All of them ran a different direction and were out of sight. In that way, Girase sir forced them to run back.
The following day the news was aired in the village like a flash of light. The entire village asked him how he had done it possible. He shared with them frankly and pleaded them not to fear anymore. Since that day, they became fearless and began their working in the night too.
He got name and fame out of that incident.
