A wake-up call!

A wake-up call!

One of my friends shared with unhappiness that his close friend, who was the best language teacher, changed the field, and now working as a coconut vendor. On asking the reasons for changing. He was not paid a proper salary despite his online teaching and another family pressure. So he quickly took a decision and submitted before the situation. Today’s education has been changed. Earlier what we were taught about Goddess Saraswati and Laxmi. It is said that both of them were equally devoted and respected.

But nowadays Goddess Laxmi is ahead of Saraswati. Consequently, education can be bought by those who hold the Goddess Laxmi in their hands. Degree and diploma are obtained or available on the money. No value or respect to Saraswati means ‘Knowledge’ is at all. Nobody devotes Goddess Saraswati but Laxmi. As earlier, we people used to pray and devote Goddess Saraswati in the early morning. We at present forget it and think of only money.  Further, education just becomes a bunch of papers or documents, by showing it others the people get a job or work done. Even we are not asked by others about whether we learnt or not.

It is said that education or teaching others is the mother of all professions. But the mother, teacher, is facing the problem of unemployment. And other professionals such as doctors, managers, lawyers, engineers and many created by her, are easily into the job in the markets.

Out of this situation a question to us,

Who is responsible?

Who allows education to be purchased?

Who keeps it on money, holding it high and knowledge low?

We, teachers, are responsible for it. Whenever it is demanded either illegally or cheating way, we all blindly support and offer it to others through money. Slowly and gradually authenticity has been lost. It's a wake-up call for us. So it’s time to restore it as it had been into practice in the old days.

Let’s pray to Goddess Saraswati and hope that she will enlighten to all of us.
