The principal’s magic activity

                                        The principal’s magic activity

Once upon a time, there was a school was run by the trust. It was under the care of the private company. So it was always taken care and maintained well by its trustees. Sometimes, there were lots of complaints from parents. They raised the question over the teachers’ teaching, behaviour, integrity, and results. So the principals constantly left without any notices. Every time they were heaped with lots of issues. So they felt tired because of that. Then they used to run and join some other place.

The management and the teachers were worried. They always threw a question to one another,

“What will happen to the future of the children and school?”
But nobody was able to sort it out. They put the blame either on the students or their parents. In that way, it was going on and all of them were automatically adapted to that system. Consequently, some parents started to apply for leaving certificate of their wards. Further, the people had a view of the school as a waste of time and money. They used to comment upon it,
“The school is making the students mischievous.”

Around it, nobody liked and recommend for admission. That’s why slowly the students’ ratio was decreased. It put impact upon another area like school library, smart class, and plays equipment. Therefore the management was serious and worried about the development of the school and children. They advertised several times in the newspaper. But they were frustrated by no applicant appearing for the interview.
Over time, the teachers and the management were thinking that the school would shut down one day. Even some teachers were promoted as principal and vice-principal. But they refused to do it. They announced that they liked to work as the teachers and not as the principal. They discussed the reason among themselves as a burden and headache.
The time passed rapidly and still, the core issues were not coped out. On the other hand, the students also took the school as fun and place of the time pass.  They were doing whatever they liked. Due to that attitude, there was no discipline and rules. The nearby people were afraid of the children’s spoiling career and lives.
Ultimately the rumour about the school and the students were spread. It became a hot topic of the people’s gossiping.  They considered that it would surely close down. Then one day the management went through the old applications. They found the old application of the principal. They decided just to try that applicant who came many years ago. Perhaps he didn’t know the problems in the school. They finally sent an interview letter to him and fixed the date for it.

On that date, he turned up at the school and got the post of the principal. Further, the trustees openly discussed the issues of the school with him. So that he could take a proper solution. Even he was slow in approaching these issues and took down his observation.
Surprisingly, he decided to keep ten minutes for all teachers at the end of the day. In that, he began to ask two or three questions. The teachers thought that it might be just meeting. But he asked all of them,
“Dear teachers, what did you learn today?”
“What would you like to share about your class either good or bad?"
All became the thoughtful and blank initially. They took it as just asked by the principal. Perhaps he would not ask it again to them. That’s why everybody was silent on his questions. On the other hand, the principal took it as a challenge and let them go.

But he continued in asking those questions to them every day. The teachers struggled to share what they had learnt. Therefore every one of them became pensive on what he learnt on that day. The principal had kept it for half a year. Consequently, they started learning, observing, thinking, preparing, and making themselves authentic.

They even noted down their learning and experience in their diaries. Sometimes they shared bad experience and mistake with him. However, he never lost his temper. On the contrary, he motivated them. The teachers were put on thinking and observation by his small activity. Slowly and gradually the school and students became thoughtful and good learners. The teachers also kept the same activity for them.

At the end of the academic year, everything came into the thoughtful, hardworking, and discipline. Even the parents also realised it and became glad. Their wards started studying and thinking seriously. All became normal and disciplined.
The management also realised what they were missing earlier. They not only became happy but also hopeful that the same days of chaos wouldn’t return to the school.

The year ended with some good results. But the school and its students made themselves competitive and creative. In result, the school became a place of thinking, learning, and observation.
